Hamilton County Schools getting unexpected $1 million

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Hamilton County Schools will benefit from an additional $1 million in revenue that wasn't expected.

At a meeting tonight, board of education members are discussing their 2013 budget, which is projected to total more than $383 million.

New projections released today show an extra $500,000 in sales tax revenue and an extra $800,000 from the state's Basic Education Program.

The extra cash could help the board partially restore capital funding cuts and reduce the amount of personnel that would have to be cut to balance the budget.
