Chattanooga Lookouts win two in row against Suns

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. — The Chattanooga Lookouts went on the road and promptly beat the Jacksonville Suns, 4-3 on Tuesday night and 10-5 Wednesday afternoon.

Tuesday, Pedro Baez's two-out double to left field in the fifth inning followed by Blake Smith's RBI double to right provided the deciding score. Luis Vasquez, Geison Aguasviva and Shawn Tolleson combined for three scoreless innings of relief for starting pitcher Allen Webster, who improved to 1-1.

The Lookouts took a 3-0 lead in the second inning when J.T. Wise's single past first scored Webster and Nick Buss and when Kyle Russell's single to center scored Luis Nunez.

Wednesday, Luis Nunez and Matt Wallach combined to drive in seven runs as Chattanooga improved to 3-4 with its first two-game win streak of the season.

Wallach hit a two-run home run to right field in the second inning as the Lookouts pulled into a 2-2 tie, and he contributed to Chattanooga's six-run eighth inning with an RBI single to right after Jacksonville had pulled within 4-3. Nunez drove in two runs on a double to left in the seventh inning and two more with a single to left in the eighth.

Game three of a five-game series in Jacksonville is tonight at 7:35. Aaron Miller (0-0, 3.38 ERA) is scheduled to start on the mound for the Lookouts, with Matthew Montgomery (0-1, 4.76) scheduled for the Suns.
