Highlights at Hatch 2012 in Chattanooga

• 1 p.m.: The Art-O-Mat, Rock City Gardens. Clark Whittington, creator of The Art-O-Mat, old cigarette machines that vend art, will be offering an artist talk as well as a workshop for the local art community. Rock City admission fees apply.

• 5-6:45 p.m.: Orchestrate, The Camp House, 1427 Williams St. Enjoy this happy-hour demonstration featuring the Chattanooga Symphony & Opera String Quintet performing while visual artists and modern ballet dancers create works. Free.

• 7-9 p.m.: Palate 2 Palette Youth Gallery Reception, Hills Floral Building, 100 W. Main St. Pieces created by art students from 17 area high schools will be on display and available for purchase in some cases. $5 adults. $2 students.
