Teen drowns in Harrison Bay

A 16 year-old boy is dead after a fatal swimming accident in Harrison Bay State Park, confirmed Tennessee Parks Department spokeswoman Meg Lockhart.

His body was found between 7 and 8 p.m. on Saturday 100 yards from shore, she added.

Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency officials, park rangers and Hamilton County first responders all searched for the boy after he was reported missing on Saturday afternoon.

No other information was available Saturday evening.
