Pam Dantzler, principal of East Hamilton Middle High School, announced to faculty and staff today that she will be stepping down from her position this year.
She plans to retire after working 39 years as an educator in Hamilton County, said Jenni Oliver, an assistant principal at the school. East Hamilton, which opened three years ago, now has 2,200 students.
“She is retiring and cruising and having a good time at this point,” Oliver said.
There has been no mention of her replacement.
“It’s been shock,” Oliver said. “Most people didn’t have a clue about what was going on.”
