Alabama woman charged with arson

A woman in DeKalb County, Ala., has been charged with arson after an apartment caught fire in Powell, authorities say.

Tiffany Ann Holland, 30, who lived in the apartment that burned, has been charged with first-degree arson and is in the county jail on a $50,000 bond, said DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris in a news release.

About noon Sunday, a fire was reported at the Lowell Bell Apartments on Broad Street, the release said, and the Rainsville Fire Department and Powell Volunteer Fire Department responded. Evidence at the scene indicated the fire may have been set, Harris said.

No one was injured in the fire, which was contained to the single apartment, he said.
