An Erlanger subsidiary has opened a $2.6 million day care facility for use by Volkswagen employees and people who live in the area around the plant.
The 13,400-square-foot center can serve up to 281 children and is next to the Erlanger at Volkswagen Drive health and wellness site that opened in 2011 near the plant, said Donna Bourdon, administrator for ContinuCare Health Services.
She said about 40 children of VW employees are now using the facility. Bourdon said an open house is set for Sunday from 1-4 p.m.
The Erlanger child care center reportedly is the sixth-biggest in Hamilton County based on capacity.
