Hamilton County Sheriff’s officers are scouring the Sale Creek area for three suspects they believe were involved in the attempted robbery of a pawn shop this afternoon.
Sheriff Jim Hammond said shots were fired as three people attempted to rob the store. He said it is unclear who fired the shots and whether the suspects are armed.
The suspects ran into nearby woods, and officials initially put Sale Creek Middle High School on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
School officials said shortly before 2 p.m. that the school is no longer locked down.
