Information sessions on MBA program set

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga College of Business will host information sessions about its expanded MBA program to be offered on-site at Volkswagen Chattanooga beginning in the fall.

The sessions are open to the public and will be held at the Volkswagen Academy, 8001 Volkswagen Drive, at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and May 17 and at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and May 18. Lunch will be provided during the 11:30 a.m. sessions.

The part-time, evening master of business administration program is designed for working professionals in Chattanooga and the surrounding areas. It requires eight core classes in management, marketing, accounting, finance, strategy and entrepreneurship and four electives in any of the business disciplines.

Nonbusiness undergraduate majors may have to take up to four additional background courses.

Students typically take two classes per semester and, attending year-round, can complete their MBA in two calendar years, according to a news release.

Students who are not currently enrolled in the UTC MBA program and are interested in applying for the fall 2012 semester classes at Volkswagen Academy should begin the process by May. After application is made to UTC, prospective students will have six to eight weeks to prepare for the Graduate Management Admission Test.
