A Bradley County man shot in the neck on April 6 has died, authorities said.

John Penn, 66, died over the weekend in Erlanger hospital, Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault said in a news release.

No one has been charged in the incident, Gault said, and specifics of the case have not been released.

The county has ordered an autopsy, he said.

On April 6, sheriff deputies were called to a domestic dispute at Penn's home on the 1100 block of Keith Valley Road and found him wounded.

Car burglaries suspect arrested

A suspect in the burglaries of 11 cars in the Keith Valley Road area has been arrested, authorities said.

Michael Basham, 24, is charged with 11 counts of burglary of a vehicle, one count of theft over $500, and 10 counts of theft under $500, said Bradley County Sheriff's Office spokesman Bob Gault. Bond has been set at $25,000 and Basham is due back in court on May 1, Gault said.

The arrest came after investigations into burglaries of unsecured cars in the area of Keith Valley Road, Will Lewis Drive and Valley View Road, he said. One resident provided the name of the individual.

Detectives searched Basham's home at 1323 Keith Valley Road and found almost all of the stolen property, Gault said.

Anyone in the area of Keith Valley Road who recently lost items to theft from a vehicle but did not report the loss is asked to contact the Criminal Investigations division at 728-7337. Investigators may have the property.
