UTC Master Chorale begins auditions today

Dr. Kevin Ford, director of choral activities at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, announces that auditions for this summer's UTC Master Chorale begin today and continue through April 28.

Auditions will consist of singing "My Country 'Tis of Thee," a range check and sight singing.

The Master Chorale is a mixed chorus composed of UTC graduate and undergraduate students and experienced singers from the surrounding community.

David Friberg will accompany the group. Gabrielle Haston and Kevin Moore will assist Ford as graduate conductors.

Literature will consist of settings of the Psalms by various composers, featuring "Psalm 90" by American composer Charles Ives.

The chorus will rehearse for five weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting May 8. The group will present concerts on May 21 and June 5.

Auditions are by appointment. To schedule a time or for more information, contact Ford at 425-5243 or email Kevin-Ford@utc.edu.
