A new study ranks Chattanooga as the fourth most affordable vacation city., a national website that highlights more than 500 of America’s best places to live, rated the Scenic City behind only Louisville, Minneapolis and San Antonio in its list of cities offering the greatest value and variety of attractions and entertainment options to visit. Athens, Ga., and Rogers, Ark., were the only other Southern cities on the list. editors ranked cities by the quality and quantity of unique, free activities – both indoors and out – and by the availability of discounts on otherwise pricey attractions.

“Great family vacations don't have to be expensive,” Nancy Schretter, managing editor of the Family Travel Network, said in a statement today. ”Get the whole family together to help plan the vacation and decide on your own definition of family fun. Then enlist the kids' help (if they're old enough) in searching the Internet for cities that have attractions that match your family's interests.”

Schretter said “Chattanooga is fun to say and even more fun to visit.”

“For less than one day’s admission to a major theme park, visitors can explore all Chattanooga has to offer,” the editors said in a statement today.
