Out of the rubble, Rhea County rebuilds

SPRING CITY, RHEA COUNTY (WRCB) - On April 27, 2011 an EF-1 and an EF-4 tornado tore through parts of Rhea County. Spring City felt the brunt of the storm.

"That night my son and I stood on the front porch and watched the clouds go above and have a clear sky below. I pointed out, that don't look good," says James Allen Grogan.

Grogan knew the weather was taking a turn for the worse long before the tornado destroyed his mother's double-wide mobile home. He remembers taking cover seconds before.
