The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hamilton, Bradley and Polk counties at about 8:30 Wednesday night.
The warning is in effect until 9 p.m., then a severe thunderstorm watch is issued until 11 p.m.
The warning states that the storm is dangerous with damaging winds and destructive hail and suggests that people outside should move to shelter.
