Republican Todd Gardenhire of Chattanooga was leading opponent Greg Vital by a slim 15 votes in their race for the Republican nomination for the state Senate District 10, unofficial election returns show.
Provisional ballots have not been counted which could affect the race outcome.
Combined tallies from Hamilton and Bradley counties show Gardenhire with 7,995 votes to Vital’s 7,980 votes. Gardenhire won the portion of Hamilton County in the district while Vital took the Bradley portion.
