Signal Mountain dentist wins District 2 school board seat

Jonathan Welch has won the District 2 seat on the Hamilton County Board of Education, despite a write-in effort from Mike Harvey.

Welch took 4,034 votes. Results show 1,809 write-in votes cast, though it’s unclear how many of those were for Harvey. That’s a 69.04 percent to 30.96 percent split between Welch and write-in votes.

All vote totals, which include federally mandated provisional ballots, are unofficial until certified by the Tennessee Department of Elections.
