Huntsville Stars no-hit Lookouts in 3-1 victory

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Five Huntsville pitchers combined to no-hit the Chattanooga Lookouts in a 3-1 Southern League victory Thursday night for the Stars.

Jimmy Nelson, Dan Merklinger, R.J. Seidel, Darren Byrd and Brandon Kintzler did combine for 11 walks despite allowing no hits. Merklinger walked four Lookouts (23-17) in the fifth inning, with a walk to J.T. Wise bringing home Matt Wallach to make it a 3-1 game.

The Stars went ahead to stay in the third inning on Brock Kjeldgaard's three-run home run to right.

Game one of Chattanooga's five-game home series against Mississippi at AT&T Field is tonight at 7:15. Matt Magill (8-5, 4.11 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts, with Brent Leach (0-3, 2.63) scheduled for the Braves.
