Two kids, five adults found locked in U-Haul truck in East Tennessee

KNOXVILLE - Three people were arrested after authorities discovered two young children, along with five adults, locked in the back of a moving truck traveling along Interstate 40 this afternoon.

Knox County Sheriff's Office deputies stopped the U-Haul truck just west of Watt Road about 1 p.m., shortly after E-911 received a report of two children being beaten and thrown into the back of a moving truck in the parking lot of Walmart, 8445 Walbrook Drive, in West Knoxville, according to KCSO spokeswoman Martha Dooley.

Three men, including the driver, were seated in the front of the truck. A 6-year-old girl, a 9-year-old boy, four men and a woman were locked in the back.
