UPDATE: The victim of today's shooting has been identified as 29 year-old Darrell Tremel Lane.
Chattanooga police are investigating a homicide at 222 Tunnel Blvd, said Master Patrol Officer Nathan Hartwig.
The victim, a black man between the ages of 25-35, was shot multiple times in front of a residence and pronounced dead at the scene. Police responded to the shooting at 8:23 a.m.
Police believe the man was targeted and was not a resident of the home he was shot in front of. Authorities received reports of a black man in a silver hatchback leaving the scene just after the shooting.
At the time there is no indication the shooting is gang-related, police say. Detectives are currently interviewing nearby residents.
