Luis Nunez homered to left field to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning and propel the Chattanooga Lookouts to a 3-1 victory over the Mississippi Braves on Tuesday night at AT&T Field.

The Lookouts won the series and maintained their spot atop the Southern League's North Division with a 26-19 second-half record. Chattanooga departed after the game for Pensacola and has just two homestands left in the regular season -- against Jacksonville (Aug. 14-19) and Jackson (Aug. 24-28).

After Nunez homered to make it 2-1, the Lookouts loaded the bases and then took a 3-1 advantage when Nick Buss singled to center to score Brahiam Maldonado.

Mississippi took a 1-0 lead in the second inning on Todd Cunningham's two-out single to center that scored Jaime Pedroza. Chattanooga tied it later in the second when Jake Lemmerman led off with a double and scored on Maldonado's single to left.

The Lookouts got the win despite failing to make the most of their 13 hits. Rafael Ynoa went 4-for-5, while Nunez was 3-for-4 and Maldonado was 2-for-3.
