Woman claims Georgia judge propositioned her for sex

ATLANTA - An attorney for a woman claims a North Georgia judge propositioned her for sex when she was alone with him in his chambers to take out a criminal arrest warrant.

Chief Magistrate Judge Bryant Cochran denied the allegations by 36-year-old Angela Garmley in an interview Wednesday with The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

The alleged incident occurred April 9 after Garmley says she was assaulted by three people who once rented a trailer from her and her husband in Murray County.

Garmley says claims Cochran asked her to be his mistress when she appeared before him to take out the warrant.

Jeff Davis, director of the judicial watchdog agency, says he could neither confirm nor deny whether the Judicial Qualifications Commission is investigating the case.
