JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. - Tennessee basketball coach Cuonzo Martin may be on an exhibition tour in Italy with his team, but he's still doing some work stateside.

The Volunteers released their 2012-13 schedule Friday, and Martin said via text message that they will start with an Oct. 28 scrimmage against Georgia Tech at McKenzie Arena in Chattanooga.

The Vols gutted out a tough win Friday in Florence against the same Lithuanian professional team that beat Georgia earlier this week for their second win of their four-game tour. After beginning the trip with an easy win in Rome, UT closes the tour with games in San Marino and Como on Sunday and Tuesday.

Martin's team practiced 10 times before the trip.

With the Southeastern Conference finalizing its schedule Friday, UT released its full slate. The Vols open the season Nov. 9 against Kennesaw State in Knoxville before going to the Puerto Rico Tip-Off tournament, where UT will open against UNC-Asheville. UT travels to Georgetown and Virginia, and Wichita State, Xavier and Memphis visit Knoxville.

In the new 14-team SEC, UT plays Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Georgia, Alabama and Ole Miss each home and away. Mississippi State, LSU, Florida and Missouri are the Vols' home-only SEC opponents. UT visits Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Auburn with no return visit.
