Three residents of Elder Mountain have filed a lawsuit against Chattanooga and the Hamilton County Election Commission, saying both parties erred in a vote to deannex the area from the city.
Susan Rich, Janis Burger and Carole Klimesch filed the suit Wednesday in Hamilton County Chancery Court. It states that the city provided a list of names to the election commission that was inaccurate, not listing some eligible voters and listing some who were eligible.
The residents of the mountain voted two weeks ago to deannex from the city in a 21-20 vote.
