Falling Water Elementary will celebrate 100 years of educating students on the county's north end with two public events this fall.

Students, faculty and community members will hold a special flag raising ceremony with area veterans at 8:45 a.m. Monday. The public is invited to attend. The school, which opened in 1912, is located at 715 Roberts Mill Rd.

Parent Jennifer Gibbs said the public is also welcome to attend a community-wide dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the school. Tickets are $6 in advance and $8 at the door. Call the school at 843-4711 for tickets or for more information
