RHEA COUNTY GOLDEN EAGLES
Coach: Doug Greene (second season, 1-9 here and overall) Stadium address: 405 Pierce Road, Evensville, TN 37332
RECENT HISTORY
The Golden Eagles finished 1-9 last season, their lone win a victory over Walker Valley late in the year. They missed the playoffs for the third consecutive year. Here's a look at the regular-season win total for the last five years:
Season 1 5 10
2011 -(1)
2010 -----(5)
2009 --(2)
2008 --------(8)
2007 -----(5)
THREE STRENGTHS
1) The offensive line returns three starters, plus a tight end with experience.
2) The Eagles have a veteran defensive line that can pressure and shut down opponents.
3) This team bonded well during the past 13 months, and the chemistry seems good right now.
THREE CONCERNS
1) An injury late in the preseason thinned out the quarterback position. Who can fill the backup role to Austin Dotson?
2) A lot of sophomores must fill important roles immediately. Are they up to the challenge?
3) Who will be able to provide depth for this team?
THREE QUESTIONS WITH JACOB REVIS
(Senior lineman)
Q: With the history at Rhea County, how hard was last season to deal with?
A: Any season that you finish with just one win, it's rough, but I think it might help us this season because we don't want to experience that again.
Q: What is it going to take to ensure you don't experience another season like last year?
A: Hard work in the offseason, which we did do. It was extremely hard, but I think it helped us come together and will make us a better team.
Q: Do people ever try to make comparisons between you and your brother Kevin?
A: Some, but not a lot. We have different styles of how we play, but our last names are both Revis. I'm bigger than him, though. He has the better squat and our power cleans are the same, but I have a better bench [press].
