GSU student shot in confrontation in Atlanta

ATLANTA — Police are searching for the assailant who fatally shot a 23-year-old student in Atlanta.

Investigators said Ayokunle Lumpkin of Kennesaw was killed early Sunday while following a vehicle that struck his girlfriend’s car in Chosewood Park. He was taken to Grady Hospital and pronounced deal.

Authorities said that a green vehicle sped away from the scene. No arrests were reported Sunday.

Lumpkin was a member of Georgia State University’s soccer team.
