Dade County reports high turnout

As runoff returns are tallied in Dade County, Ga., county Board of Elections member Bob Fretts said 2,098 ballots had been cast in the county's six runoff races when figures were called in around 6:35 p.m.

Fretts said he believed the number of runoff races and high interest in the GOP runoffs for sheriff, clerk of superior court and Georgia House of Representatives District 1 were driving balloting numbers.

So far, Tuesday has "very good turnout figures compared with previous elections. Particulalry compared with other runoffs," Fretts said.
