A 25-year-old Rainsville woman has been charged with passing several forged checks in north Alabama, authorities say.
Amber Kira Nicho Thompson is charged with two counts of second-degree forgery, seven counts of second-degree possession of a forged instrument and seven counts of third-degree theft by deception, said DeKalb County Sheriff Jimmy Harris in a news release.
The forgery charges involve two stores in DeKalb County while the other charges are from Jackson County, he said.
