North Alabama police seize $1.5 million worth of meth

DeKalb County, Ala., authorities seized the largest amount of meth ever reported in the county in a trailer near Collinsville, Ala.

The mobile home is believed to be a "stash house" used for re-packaging drugs and distribution, said Sheriff Jimmy Harris in a news release.

Drug agents searched the trailer Friday and seized 33 pounds of crystallized meth known as ice worth about $1.5 million, Harris said.

Local, state and federal agents have been working on this drug bust, but no arrests have been made yet, Harris said. The investigation is ongoing.

"The amount of ice we were able to keep off the street is significant," Harris said.
