Ales Campbell, a LaFayette supporter of recently defeated Walker County sole commissioner candidate Dr. Paul Shaw, has qualified to run as a write-in candidate against current Commissioner Bebe Heiskell in November, a news release states.

“I intend to bring transparency and better communication to the office of commissioner and between Walker County government and residents,” Campbell said.

Campbell, who has been active in civic affairs in LaFayette, is pledging an “aggressive” campaign, the release states.

A rally for Campbell supporters is planned Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at her campaign headquarters, Dr. Shaw’s former office at 611 N. Main St. in LaFayette.
