Memorial, BlueCross reach network agreement

Memorial Health Care System and BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee have reached a new agreement, which means the Chattanooga hospital will be back in BlueCross network beginning Sept. 1.

After months of talks, the two failed to negotiate a contract when their previous contract expired July 31.

The new contract is a 5-year agreement that allows BlueCross members to use services at Memorial Hospital, Memorial Hospital Hixson and the Mary Ellen Locher Breast Center on an in-network basis in the health plan’s Network P and Medicare Advantage products, according to a joint news release.

The two groups declined to release information about terms of the contract.
