PESHAWAR, Pakistan — Police say a bomb blast ripped through one of their vans as it was patrolling in northwestern Pakistan, killing two officers and wounding two others.
Senior police officer Javed Khan says the attack took place on Monday on the outskirts of the northwestern city of Peshawar.
Khan says it is unclear if the blast was caused by a roadside bomb or a suicide bomber. The police van was completely destroyed.
Peshawar is on the outskirts of Pakistan’s tribal region, the main sanctuary for Islamist militants in the country, and has been hit by frequent attacks.
