DragonCon co-founder facing molestation charges

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. — Authorities say a co-founder of a science fiction convention will likely be extradited to Georgia by Christmas to face child molestation charges.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution on Wednesday reported Edward W. Kramer, co-founder of DragonCon, was ordered to return to Georgia after violating his bond conditions and being arrested in Connecticut.

Kramer was charged with molestation in Gwinnett County in 2000, but was declared unfit to stand trial because of a spinal condition. The charges have been pending since then.

He was put on house arrest and ordered to have no contact with children under 16. Kramer was given permission to travel in 2008 and was found in a Connecticut motel room with a 14-yer-old boy in September.

Authorities will reevaluate Kramer to determine if he is fit to stand trial.
