Atlanta police find missing toddler

ATLANTA — Atlanta police found a 2-year-old boy whose mother said she last saw him more than a week ago.

Authorities said Thursday Laquanda Burley told them she met a woman by the name of “Sylvia” at the Edgewood/Candler Park MARTA station.

Burley told police she dropped her 23-month-old son, Malachi, off with her on Nov. 26 and hadn’t heard from either of them since then.

Police Thursday identified the woman as 26-year-old Sylvia Franklin, and found Malachi unharmed.

Attempts to reach Burley at two phone numbers listed under her name were unsuccessful Thursday afternoon.

It is not yet clear whether any charges will be filed.
