Man found at lake drowned

The man whose body was pulled from Chickamauga Lake died of drowning and there is no evidence of foul play in the death, authorities said.

Two men in a boat near Lakesite Marina spotted the body Sunday. Authorities later said the man was Eric C. Warnock. No other information, such as age or address, has been released.

Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson said the medical examiner found he died of drowning and there is "no creditable evidence or information that would indicate the death was a result of foul play."

Man injured in shooting

A 21-year-old Chattanooga man was shot about 7 p.m. near 2100 Foust St., according to the Chattanooga Police Department.

Dominic Wright was walking in the street when someone shot him and fled in an older model black sedan, according to police. Wright was driven to the hospital in a personal vehicle. His wounds were not considered life-threatening.

Police ask anyone with information on this crime to call the Chattanooga police at 423-698-2525.
