Walldorf eyed as DeMint successor

A political news website is reporting that Chad Walldorf, owner of the Sticky Fingers restaurant chain, is considered as a replacement placeholder for departing U.S. Sen. Jim DeMint of South Carolina.

Walldorf, who grew up in Chattanooga, is the chairman of the South Carolina Board of Economic Advisors and a former deputy chief of staff to Gov. Mark Sanford, according to TPM.

It cited a Republican source in South Carolina that Gov. Nikki Haley is considering filling the seat with Walldorf, whose father is Chattanooga businessman Rudy Walldorf.
