Chattanooga police search for missing 12-year-old boy

Chattanooga police are searching for a 12-year-old boy who has been missing for about 24 hours, spokesman Nathan Hartwig said.

Tyrus Birt was last seen yesterday and was reported missing at 4 p.m. today. He has a history of running away and may be in a small silver vehicle, Hartwig said.

Tyrus is black, about 5 feet 2 inches tall, and weighs about 140 pounds. He is missing from 1200 E 34th Street.
