Get your holiday on in Etowah

The Gem Players, the theatrical troupe at the Gem Theater in Etowah, Tenn., will host a different company of players on Saturday, Dec. 15.

For Etowah’s “Merry TubaChristmas” presentation, musicians will be featured on tubas, euphoniums, baritones and sousaphones in a free concert at 7 p.m.

Don Bindrim is the conductor. Treavor Johnson is guest conductor. An audience sing-along will add to the festivities.

Conceived in 1974 as a tribute to late artist/teacher William J. Bell, TubaChristmas concerts take place around the world to show the versatility of these instruments.

Typically, the players have a brief rehearsal before presenting a show. Musicians interested in Saturday’s program may email
