Tennessee man commits suicide after police standoff

SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. - Authorities say a Springfield man killed himself after a six-hour standoff with police.

According to WKRN-TV, 29-year-old Kevin Hudson committed suicide Friday night.

Authorities say he had threatened to kill his girlfriend several times.

When officers arrived at the home of the incident, Hudson shot at them and threatened to shoot himself.

After a lengthy standoff, officers eventually deployed tear gas into the home and went inside. Hudson was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

The incident is still under investigation.
