Wrestling Mocs lose 2 matches in New York

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga dropped a pair of meets in the Grapple in the Garden on Sunday in New York, falling to second-ranked Oklahoma State 41-9 and to unbeaten Rutgers 28-12.

Rutgers improved to 7-0, Oklahoma State to 6-0. Top performers for the Mocs -- each with two wins -- were Nick Soto (125) and Niko Brown (197).

Ranked as high as seventh in some of the national polls, Soto pinned Oklahoma State's Edward Klimara in 6:29 and then bested Rutger's Joe Langel 10-3.

Brown, now with 17 wins on the year against one defeat, edged Oklahoma State's Austin Schafer 5-4 before defeating Rutgers' Dan Seidenberg 3-1.

The Mocs fell to 4-4 headed into the holidays. They'll get six off days before returning to Chattanooga to prepare for the host role for the 2013 Southern Scuffle on Jan. 1-2.
