It won't be a white Christmas, but it definitely will be a wet one.
Christmas Day will be mostly rain showers, though there's the possibility of a wintry mix of rain and snow late Tuesday and early Wednesday, WRCB-TV meteorologist Nick Austin said.
If anything sticks, it will be enough only to make mountain roads slightly dangerous, he said.
"It's nothing that's worth staying up for," Austin said.
In Northwest Georgia, the best chance for winter weather this week is today, said Alex Gibbs, meteorologist at the National Weather Service in Peachtree City, Ga. A series of strong thunderstorms will move through Georgia on Tuesday.
Snow is possible next week, though that prediction could change, but a white Christmas is completely out of the question.
"You're in the wrong place if you want that," Gibbs said.
