Chattanooga police investigate robberies at stores

Chattanooga police are investigating several robberies that took place at convenience stores early Sunday morning, said Sgt. Wayne Jefferson.

The assailant entered the stores and went to the restroom before brandishing a knife and demanding money.

The man is described as being black and between 5-foot-7 and 6 feet tall with a dark complexion and thin mustache. He was last seen wearing a black hooded shirt and blue jeans. He possibly fled in a red vehicle.

The following stores were robbed between 1:35 and 3:44 a.m.

— Kangaroo, 6960 Lee Highway

— Tiger Mart, 3504 Hixson Pike

— Kangaroo, 5501 Highway 153

— Kangaroo Express, 7020 E. Brainerd Rd.
