Sex offenders who didn’t register arrested in DeKalb County, Ala.

Two sex offenders who failed to register with the DeKalb County, Ala., Sheriff’s Office as required were arrested recently, a news release states.

Brandon Wayne Wilemon, 30, of Boaz, initially was arrested on Dec. 22 and charged with unlawful manufacturing of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in the release.

Later it was brought to authorities’ attention that Wilemon is a sex offender who failed to register with the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and was living/staying with a minor child, Harris said.

Wilemon subsequently was charged with failure to register as a sex offender.

In an unrelated case, Robin Edward Lankford, 33, of Crossville, is a sex offender who moved from Marshall County, Ala., to DeKalb County. He was arrested Thursday and charged with failure to register his status.

“If a sex offender moves to a different county they are supposed to let the sheriff’s office know where they are moving to and register with them,” Harris said in the release.
