The body of Dixie Yvonne Brown, a missing Chattooga County woman who suffered from Alzheimer's disease, was found Tuesday morning in a wooded area about a mile from her home on Dry Creek Road, County Coroner Earle Rainwater said.
Brown, 74, last was seen at 4:30 a.m. Sunday in the area of Dry Creek and Haywood Valley roads when she knocked on a neighbor's door and then walked away.
Crews with the Chattooga and Floyd county sheriffs' offices had "been searching daylight hours ever since she was reported missing," Rainwater said.
Brown appeared to have died of natural causes, he said.
