Local and federal police arrested three people who were distributing large quantities of meth in the Whitfield County region.
The investigation began with Travis Little, of Summerville, Ga., who was intercepted taking several pounds of methamphetamine to the Dalton area Friday night, said Whitfield County Sheriff Scott Chitwood in a news release.
Little was arrested on multiple drug charges and police were able to trace the meth to the man he was selling to, Chitwood said.
On Monday night, investigators located Eric Hendrix, of Monroe, Ga., as he was delivery a large shipment of meth to Dalton, he said. Police also arrested a female passenger in the vehicle, Chantelle Everson, of Monroe.
Both were charged with multiple drug charges including, trafficking in methamphetamine and possession with the intent to distribute, Chitwood said.
Overall, police seized more than nine pounds of meth, more than $20,000 in cash, and two vehicles, he said.
All three are currently being held in the Whitfield County jail and more arrests could follow.
