Two inmates who escaped from Walker State Prison in Rock Spring, Ga., on Monday night were captured today about three miles from the facility, a Georgia Department of Corrections spokeswoman said.
Gwendolyn Hogan said Buell David Emberson and Fred Dalton Brooks were found by corrections department personnel and local authorities.
They are believed to have fashioned a device that allowed them to breach the fence at the medium security facility Monday at about 9:15 p.m., according to a news release.
Emberson, 42, was convicted of several charges, including aggravated assault and eluding police.
Brooks, 63, was convicted of several charges including armed robbery and burglary.
