An inmate who escaped Sunday from Silverdale Correctional Facility has been recaptured, authorities say.
Darrious Brown, 29, was found today in the attic of a home at 1705 S. Hawthorne St., said Hamilton County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janice Atkinson.
Trying to avoid recapture, he jumped out of a second-story window and seriously injured one of his ankles, she said in a statement.
He was taken to a local hospital and, upon his release, will be charged with escape, she said.
Brown escaped while working at an off-site detail at the Standifer Place Nursing Home laundry room.
He was serving an 11-month, 29-day sentence for two theft charges, four counts of contempt of court, and two counts of failure to appear. His projected release date would have been June 17.
