Anthony Scott died after his airway was crushed in a brawl when a 43-year-old father reportedly went after him, thinking Scott tried to kiss his teenage daughter, police report.

A Hamilton County medical examiner's report released Wednesday shows Scott, 37, died from blunt-force trauma to the neck, leaving Scott with several abrasions.

Chattanooga police have arrested Raphael T. Colvin in connection with the killing and charged him with criminal homicide.

The incident occurred Saturday at 5225 Woodland View Circle, where Colvin and his 14-year-old daughter were at his sister's apartment and Scott was a guest, according to a police report.

Colvin and his daughter were preparing a meal around midnight when Scott came home from work. He walked over to the table and placed his arm around the girl, the report said. Colvin thought Scott tried to kiss his daughter and told him that nobody touches her.

As Scott went into the living room, Colvin punched him several times, the report said. The two locked arms and fell to the floor, according to the report.

Colvin reportedly held his forearm to Scott's throat until he stopped moving. Scott was pronounced dead at the residence by paramedics.

"I don't want to talk. I haven't even buried my brother," said Zictora Russell, Scott's sister, when reached by phone Wednesday.

After his arrest Saturday, Colvin posted a $40,000 bond Monday, according to records.

His next court date is set for Monday before General Sessions Court Judge Ron Durby.
