Tennessee was wise several years ago to stop issuing driver's licenses to illegal aliens, and a recent incident in New Mexico shows why.
New Mexico and Washington state still give licenses to illegal aliens, and that has led to massive fraud.
The Associated Press reports that certain home and business addresses in New Mexico have been used by dozens of illegal aliens, many apparently from out of state, to obtain driver's licenses. In one case, almost 50 foreign nationals said they lived at a particular smoke shop in Albuquerque, in order to obtain a license.
Those licenses confer on illegal aliens a false legitimacy, and allow them to do things such as board airplanes, get licenses in other states and conduct financial transactions.
Now, New Mexico's governor wants the law that lets illegal aliens get driver's licenses to be repealed.
Better late than never.

Once again, we can't rely on the right side of tfp to tell the truth. This editorial is yet another exaggeration and a stretch of the imagination.
According to a New Mexico news sourece the accusations that several alleged illegal immigrants have obtained drivers' license using the same address can also be attributed to the fact that renters move often. So one address used several times over a short period doesn't mean what this opinion piece is trying to suggest.
