Winter weather system heading into greater Chattanooga area tonight

Will the Chattanooga area see any substantial snow this winter?

A winter system is heading our way. The night should start with a wintry mix of rain/sleet and snow and that will gradually change over to rain overnight.

There could be some minor accumulation of snow and sleet in the higher elevations of up to an inch. Most of the valleys will see the precipitation melting.

Showers will taper off on Tuesday and another shot of rain will move in late Wednesday and end Thursday morning, with much warmer temperatures.
